Recreation Leader for Ung Arena in Nyköping Municipality

The Division of Business, Culture, and Leisure works to provide the municipality's residents, businesses, and associations with good service and a wide range of experiences and activities for development and growth. Our overarching goal is to contribute to a sustainable society and a good environment. The division is divided into four operations.

The Business Unit supports and develops the local economy by creating conditions for growth. Culture and Libraries, including the City Library, Culture School, art activities, and Children's Culture Center, provide residents with experiences that enrich leisure time and create conditions for democracy. Nyköping Tourism develops the tourism industry and markets Nyköping to visitors and residents as an attractive destination. Nyköping Arenas coordinates and conducts cultural and sports events, concerts, and festivals. They also manage arenas, venues, and meeting places for young people and collaborate with associations and organizers at local, national, and international levels. The Recreation Unit supports the association life and offers meeting places and open recreational activities.

We at Ung Arena belong to the Recreation Unit, which works with meeting places to promote people's conditions for good health and quality of life and contribute to positive social development together with civil society. RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the leisure activities for youth in Nyköping Municipality within Ung Arena. You will develop youth leaders and create meaningful leisure activities for young people aged 13-19. Together with colleagues and youth, you will organize and develop youth activities that take place in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

We work with the methodology of open youth activities, which is based on the active engagement and responsibility of the youth. This means that the youth should be involved in all steps of the activity, from idea, planning, and preparation to implementation and evaluation. The assignment also includes documenting the daily activities.

An important part of the role consists of collaborating with other actors, both within and outside the municipality, to develop methods for promoting, preventing, and building relationships.

As a recreation leader, you are a good role model with a clear value base based on human rights and the equal worth of all individuals. The importance of integration and diversity permeates our work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• completed recreation leader training or another relevant education that the employer deems equivalent
• work experience with youth
• good computer skills and experience using social media as a tool
• very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• experience in organizing youth events from start to finish
• driver's license (B) for manual transmission

Meritorious:

• Additional languages beyond Swedish and English
• Experience with the KEKS network's working methods and tools
• Experience working in project form
